The Program

AutoCAD is a computer aided design (CAD) program used in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design and other fields requiring a sophisticated design and drafting tool. This program offers small, hands-on classes with practical, workplace-based training and instructors with industry experience as well as extensive teaching credentials.

AutoCAD training is a great tool if you are working in or entering professions where computer aided drafting is used. Professions include engineering, architecture, carpentry, surveying, facility planning, pattern drafting and interior design. The more background you have in drafting or design to combine with AutoCAD skills, the more beneficial you will find the training program.

The Certificate

You can take individual courses for professional or personal development. You can also complete all three instructor-led courses and apply to undertake a completion project to obtain a Camosun College credential in AutoCAD Graphics. In the self-paced AutoCAD Completion Project, you will produce a CAD project that utilizes and demonstrates your AutoCAD skills, submitting a final project drawing for evaluation.

Learner Outcomes

Each course is a combination of lecture (30%) and hands-on lab exercises (70%). Successful completion requires a minimum of 75% attendance and completion of all assignments. While most assignments can be completed during class time; you also have access to AutoCAD equipped labs outside of class for the duration of the course.
