Course Description

This comprehensive course will help prepare you to write the Gas Appliance Service Technician Certificate of Qualification exam (formerly Gas C). For details about writing the exam to earn certification, see Technical Safety BC's website

A Gas Appliance Service Technician certificate of qualification entitles the holder to perform the servicing and repair of gas fired residential and light commercial appliances of the following gas systems:

  • gas appliances installed for residential use, or
  • light commercial appliances up to an input of 82 kW (280,000 BTUs).
To perform regulated work, Gas Fitters must be employed by a registered gas contractor or must be gas contractors themselves. 

Notes

An applicant for a gas appliance service certificate of qualification must have successfully completed a course in gas appliance service training acceptable to Technical Safety BC (such as this course).
