Course Description

Camosun has paused all face-to-face classes due to the COVID-19 crisis. Our educators have created an interactive online course using video streaming as a temporary solution to keep our community safe.

Designed as a follow-up to Fiction Writing Intermediate with Robert Wiersema, this advanced level workshop will guide developing writers through a larger work, either a short story or part of a novel. The name of the game is writing, and students should come prepared to write, read, critique and discuss during class sessions, and to write between sessions. This hands-on work will be complemented by lectures, discussions and Q&A sessions.

Notes

Students must be prepared to submit and critique work weekly, starting with the first class. After you enroll, instructions will be emailed for submitting your work approximately one week before the class starts: a story, scene or chapter of not more than 1500 words. The first six submissions received will then be emailed to each student for them to read and critique starting with the first class.

Prerequisites

Fiction Writing Fundamentals Parts 1 & 2, Fiction Writing Intermediate Workshop with Robert Wiersema or equivalent. Please call 250-370-4773 to discuss equivalency.
