Course Description

Even Tom Hanks can’t grow and shrink a Castaway hairstyle on demand. Between out-of-order shoots and reshoots, over-the-top looks, and talent coming from or preparing for other projects, it’s often impossible for hair designers to create the looks they need using actors’ own hair. Instead, it’s essential for members of the film hair team to know how to apply a hairpiece and work with extensions. In this 21-hour Micro-Credential, learners will learn the uses and pitfalls of different products; how to source, store, and care for different hairpieces; how to apply and remove hairpieces; and how to execute work on a model.
