MCRO 660V - Land-Based Firefighting for Marine Fires Micro-credential

Course Description

This 2-day course will provide participants the necessary skills to operate as a fire watch in the marine environment, including the understanding of a hot work permit. Participants will receive hands on fire extinguisher training, enabling them to extinguish incipient stage fires and protect exposures with hose lines. Participants will gain knowledge of the hazards of ship fires, and the skills necessary to identify and recognize hazardous substances in the marine environment. Participants will perform a site safety inspection in a shipyard that will provide an opportunity for them to experience the complexity of work in a shipyard.
